Saltzman Road Construction Update 21-May-10

Current Activities

  • Remove formwork and begin backfilling of Retaining Wall No. 5 (St Pius X).
  • Begin footing excavation and rebar installation of Retaining Wall No. 2 (Library)
  • Grading for new curb and gutters along west side of Saltzman, between 128th Terrace and Lovejoy.
  • Continue with installation of new 8” water line between Cornell and Filbert.
  • Continue pulling of new conduit wires, vault and transformer connections, and transfer of services over to the new facilities. Transfer of services to the new facilities will be performed by specific utility provider or their designated contractor.
  • Continue with the relocation of overhead utility lines and transfer of services along east side of Saltzman Road, north of St. Pius X to Coleman Street (work to be performed by specific utility provider or their contractor).

Upcoming Activities (2 weeks out)

  • Continue with construction of Retaining Wall No. 2 (Library).
  • Complete installation of new 8” water line.
  • Installation of new signing and striping between 128th Terrace and Bauer Woods Drive.
  • Activation of new traffic signal at 128th Terrace and flashing beacon at Burton.
  • Continue pulling of new conduit wires, vault and transformer connections, and transfer of services over to the new facilities. Transfer of services to the new facilities will be performed by specific utility provider or their designated contractor.
  • Continue with the relocation of overhead utility lines and transfer of services along east side of Saltzman Road, north of St. Pius X to Coleman Street (work to be performed by specific utility provider or their contractor).

REMINDER: The project area has been designated a construction zone and the posted speed limit has been temporarily reduce to 25 mph between Cornell Road and the south approach of Bauer Woods Drive (this includes the recently paved portion of the roadway). All existing traffic restrictions remain in place, including left turn restrictions and school speed zone.

As with most construction activities, there will be noise, dust, and traffic impacts. The County apologizes in advance for these inconveniences and appreciates your understanding and patience.

Work Hours: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday Lane Restrictions: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday
