Here are a few words from some of our members.

Brian, Amy, Camie and Andrew Stevens
(members since 1998)
Amy and Brian were both United Methodists who met and were married at church camp in Idaho. They sought out a United Methodist church after moving to Oregon that would nurture them spiritually. They discovered CUMC in 1998 and were drawn by other young couples starting families, just as they were starting a family of their own. Their children, Andrew and Cami have benefited greatly from their extended CUMC family. From Easter egg hunts to the on-site church preschool, Vacation Bible School, summer camps, and junior/senior high youth group, the fellowship at CUMC has been a blessing to Andrew and Cami and has engaged them and continues to help them grow. Amy and Brian love the small, friendly, spirit-filled community of CUMC. They have been able to participate in many ministry opportunities through the church such as Rebuilding Together, Christmas Sharing project, and educational ministries for preschool children. They continue to enjoy the friends they met many years ago, and new friends of CUMC through various fellowship activities like snow camping, backpacking trips, small groups, and family camp.

Susan Delaney
(member since 2001)
Meet Susan Delaney, Christ UMC member for over 10 years. Susan has been a Methodist all her life, being baptized at Woodlawn UMC and a long time member of Eugene First UMC while she lived in Eugene and taught at Eugene International High. She moved to Cedar Mill after retiring in 2000 and began attending Christ Church.

Mitch, Matt, Jim and Barb Schulz
(members since 1991)
As a family, Jim and Barb Schulz have been attending Christ UMC for 20 years. However, Jim started attending CUMC when he was 15 and Barb’s family are charter members – so she grew up here. Their sons, Matt and Mitch are growing here too – and reaping the benefits of a loving supportive extended family in Christ Church. Some Sundays, their older kids (and their families) join the celebration of family on Sunday morning as well. That’s one of the things that both Barb and Jim treasure about Christ UMC, it’s a celebration of family – every Sunday….a family filled with of compassion, love, support and prayer.

Scott, Jennifer, Sammy and Lucy Erickson
(members since 2007)
Our family joined CUMC in the fall of 2007. Since we joined, we have made a new church family and look forward to attending so we can see all of our friends. We are learning about putting our faith into action, and Scott and I have become more involved in various ministries such as stewardship, staff parish relations, and Christmas sharing. Our family LOVES the annual Camp Magruder trips in the fall.

Eric, Beth, Adriana and Logan Lepire
(members since 2004)
It’s such a great feeling to have found an inspiring church with a great message and worship every Sunday. We are so excited because we found a new family that we can grow with in Christ.
